Gang Checks For Unlocked Cars On A Harborough Street

Leicestershire Police have shared a video on Facebook showing criminals caught on camera roaming through a village street at night trying to break into parked cars.

The thieves were seen on CCTV going along a residential street in Harborough district.

Police are warning people to remember to lock their vehicles.

A male in a hooded top is seen in the greyed video, walking down the street trying to open the doors of parked cars.

He is accompanied by a car crawling behind him, lighting his way down the dark road.

At one property a security light is triggered but the opportunistic young man continues on at the same, slow pace, undaunted.

Market Harborough Police said in the Facebook post: “This is genuine footage from a rural village detailing the efforts offenders are taking to commit theft from vehicles.

“If you witness anything suspicious please ring us.

“We can see these guys are opportunistic in their approach so please consider vehicle security when you park up for the night.”
