Activists in Africa have begun to fight against
the widespread practice of female circumcision. They
say the practice is a human rights abuse that destroys a woman's
ability to enjoy sex, is sometimes fatal, and frequently
leads to lifelong pain and disability. Carolyn Weaver reports
on a new documentary that focuses on the fight by African
community activists and educators against this age-old practice that
is still performed each year on millions of girls. |
