Two weeks after Nathan Murray Smith’s death, his father, Lil Jon shared in an Instagram tribute, that Nathan was laid to rest on 18 February, the first day of Ramadan, during an emotional funeral service.
Lil Jon asked for additional prayers (du’a) for his son and family, expressing deep grief and gratitude for the support he’s received. He also vowed to keep Nathan’s talent and legacy alive.
27-year-old Nathan was remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and passionate young man who was not only involved in music but also a graduate of New York University.
Lil Jon thanked fans and friends for their condolences and disclosed how profoundly the loss has affected him, noting that “life will never be the same” without his son.
Nathan Murray Smith, who performed as DJ Young Slade, was reported missing on 3 February 2026 after leaving his Georgia home under unusual circumstances without his phone.
After a multi-day search, a body believed to be Nathan’s was recovered by divers from a pond near his home in Milton, Georgia on 6 February. Authorities said no foul play was suspected, though investigations remain open.
